The winner of the 2027-2028 Algerian Cup, typically a ALG1 team, also receives a berth in the 2028 CAF Confederation Cup.

Season Format
Each ALG1 team plays Home-Away matches with the other 15 ALG1 teams for a total of 30 league matches per team. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) head-to-head points, (2) head-to-head goal difference, (3) match 1st half goal difference, (4) match 1st half goals scored, (5) Fair-play ranking, then (6) a playoff.

Relegation
At the end of the 2026-2027 ALG1 season, the 14th, 15th and 16th place ALG1 teams will be relegated to the ALG2.
