The winner of the 2026-2027 Swiss Cup, typically an SUI1 team, also receives a berth in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the 2027-2028 UEFA Europa League.

Season Format
The 2026-2027 SUI1 season is split into 2 phases. In the 1st Phase, each SUI1 team plays matches with the other 11 SUI1 teams 3 times for a total of 33 league matches. In the 2nd Phase, the 1st thru 6th place Phase 1 teams play in the Championship Group, and the 7th thru 12th place Phase 1 teams play in the Relegation Group. Each team plays matches against the other 5 teams in their group for 5 additional matches per team. Table rankings ties are broken by (1) goal difference, (2) goals scored, (3) head-to-head goal difference, (4) head-to-head goals scored, (5) away goals scored, then (6) a drawing.

At the end of the 2026-2027 SUI1 season, the 5th place SUI1 Relegation Group team plays a Home-Away highest aggregate score wins Promotion/Relegation Playoff against the 2nd place SUI2 team, and the 6th place SUI1 Relegation Group team will be relegated to SUI2..
